TRENDS IN PATTERNS - LEAVES IN TABLEWARE

Another key motif this year were simple leaves. These were less elaborate that the ferns and appeared in a much more contemporary, almost ‘scandi’ like way. On tableware they appeared in either muted beiges or whites or in blues where they sat with plain dinnerware items. The leaf motif was also seen used as a shape for serveware (far right image).

Moving onto vases and candle accessories, the leaves were simply embossed, either left unglazed (as per the images above from Broste) or combined with the strong trend of reactive glazes.
